Plug-and-Play Solutions for Teachers and Individual Students
We understand more than anyone how busy teachers are these days. Our goal is to empower students with practical money management skills and financial acumen to thrive in adulthood. However, we realize that not everyone has access to a dedicated financial literacy course (yet). Because of this, we offer a comprehensive curriculum that matches with all national and Texas state standards for financial literacy. In addition, these “plug-and-play” can also be used in Math and Social Studies classes, and cover certain Math and Social Studies standards.
This comprehensive curriculum includes:
Budgeting and Saving: We focus on tracking expenses, creating realistic budgets aligned with values, and setting short and long-term savings goals. We also explore strategic cost-cutting approaches for daily life.
Banking and Accounts: Students learn to manage checking/savings accounts, credit cards, student loans, interest rates, and leverage financial tools strategically.
Investing: We cover various investing options like stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and retirement plans. Students learn investing strategies and how to research wise investments.
Credit: A major unit covers credit scores, credit history, and responsible credit card use to build strong credit.
Taxes: We review income tax filing, common tax types, and managing tax payments. Students get hands-on practice with sample tax forms.
Insurance: We discuss the role of insurance products like health, auto, and renters in providing financial security.
Financial Decision-Making: Students apply knowledge through real-world scenarios requiring critical thinking and money management.
Entrepreneurship: We introduce business planning, market research, cash flow management, and grassroots marketing for startups.
Life Skills: Goal-setting, time management, stress management, and negotiation skills complement financial lessons.
We are here to equip teachers with the tools to enhance their practice and make their jobs easier. We arm students with applied financial literacy and essential life skills to confidently transition into adulthood.
